Mohammad Rijal

About

I'm a Senior Software Engineer with 6+ years building scalable web applications across fintech and e-commerce, most recently at FrankieOne, Wallex, and Tokopedia. My core stack is React.js, Node.js, and TypeScript, spanning Next.js, Redux, and GraphQL on the frontend to backend-for-frontend (BFF) services and authentication systems on the backend.

At Wallex, I led the migration of the Admin platform's pages from monolith to micro-frontends and from CRA to Vite, cutting build time by 50%, and architected a multi-entity frontend codebase supporting 4 country-specific APIs from a single global entity. At FrankieOne, I built and scaled a centralised CIAM (Customer Identity and Access Management) service and led the migration of portal pages to a micro-frontend architecture with Turborepo, BFF, IaC, and CI/CD. Earlier, at Tokopedia, I boosted system reliability and Core Web Vitals by driving 70%+ unit test coverage and integrated monitoring across 10+ projects.

Academically, I hold an Erasmus Joint Master's in Software Engineering for the Green Deal from VU Amsterdam, LUT University, and Università dell'Aquila, where I researched accessibility auditing tools and WebAssembly performance across Rust, C, C++, and Go. I've also taught full-stack development — covering React, Node.js, Express, MongoDB, and MySQL — as an instructor, and hold the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship and the Beko Hack the Normal Sustainability Award.

Beyond hands-on engineering, I mentor junior engineers, drive code reviews, and lead technical decisions. I care about building inclusive, sustainable software that scales.
